I've Been There
I've taken music classes, workshops, downloaded all the apps, bought better gear and while I picked up new things from each of them not a single one really connected the dots. I felt like I had picked up pieces of a ripped up map that I couldn't make heads or tails of. It was only after years of frustration that it finally "clicked". My goal as a guitar teacher is simple: To save my students from the frustration I went through.

Playing Should be Fun

It Takes One to Know One
It's all about the songs! Nobody picks up a guitar because they want to learn scales and music theory. While these are very important in progressing as a guitarist and musician they are tools used to make music, and that is the point: To Make Music! We use scales to solo and write killer riffs, and music theory to implement the things we love about the music we listen to into our own music, but there is no reason that it shouldn't be fun!

It Takes One to Know One
As a Performer I've played in Rock Bands, Jazz Bands, Duo's and Solo Gigs. I know what it's like to deal with rowdy crowds, quiet coffee shops, a packed house and an intimate wedding. I've done 30 minute festival sets and 4 hour "marathon" gigs at ski resorts. It's not about being perfect because even the pro's make mistakes. Even if your audience is your cat sitting at the end of the bed. In the end of the day it all comes down to playing with confidence, and it is never too early or too late to learn how.
